Privacy and disclosure
The short version
This site is a set of static pages. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no comments and no forms that send anything anywhere. It carries no advertising. It does use Google Analytics to count visits, described in full below, and that is the only thing here that involves another company. The converter, the charts, the date lookup and the offer comparison all run entirely in your browser: the amounts and rates you type are never sent to this server or to anyone else.
What the server records
Like any web server, the one serving these pages writes a line to a log for each request. That line contains your IP address, the time, the page requested, the response code, your browser’s user-agent string and, when your browser sends one, the referring page.
These logs exist to keep the site running and to see whether it is being abused — nothing else. They are not sold, not shared, and not joined up with the analytics described below or with anything else to build a profile. Log files rotate and are overwritten as they fill, so old entries do not accumulate indefinitely.
An IP address counts as personal data under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. The lawful basis for keeping these short-lived logs is legitimate interest in operating and securing the site.
Third parties
One: Google Analytics. Pages load a script from Google to count visits, which means Google receives your IP address, the page you are on and your browser’s user-agent. It is used to see which pages and which corridors are worth working on. Nothing you type into the converter, the date lookup or the offer comparison is sent to it, or anywhere else.
Everything else a page needs — the stylesheet, the typeface, the charts, the preview images — is served from this domain. The typeface in particular used to come from Google Fonts and no longer does.
There is no advertising network, no social media widget, no embedded video and no tag manager on any page.
Cookies, and where they are not set
This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics does, but not everywhere, and the difference is deliberate.
Analytics here runs under Google’s Consent Mode with every storage type denied by default throughout the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. In those countries no cookie is set and no identifier is stored on your device unless you are asked and agree — and you are not currently asked, because nothing here needs it. Visits are still counted, without anything that identifies a device between them. That matters more on this site than on most, because the people it is for are largely sending money out of exactly those countries.
Outside those countries, Google Analytics sets its usual cookies to tell a returning visit from a new one. Advertising and personalisation storage are denied everywhere, for everyone, regardless of location.
You can block all of it with any content blocker, or with your browser’s do-not-track and cookie settings. Nothing on this site stops working if you do: every page is static HTML, and the tools run locally either way.
Advertising and affiliate links
As of 17 September 2026, this site has no affiliate or advertising relationships. No transfer service, bank or broker pays it anything, and none has any say in what appears here. The provider tables on the sending pages are empty for that reason: they will stay empty until there is partner data the site is permitted to publish.
That may change, and this is the commitment if it does. Any link that could pay this site will
be marked as paid, both in the page text and in the link markup itself, using the
rel="sponsored" attribute search engines and browsers read. The notice in the
footer will change to say that paid links are present, and this section will be rewritten with
the date it changed. What will not change is the rates: they are taken from the central bank
publications listed in the source register and calculated as the
methodology describes, and no commercial arrangement will alter a
number, reorder a table, or remove a service that pays nothing.
Links out
Pages link to central bank publications and to the occasional transfer service. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s site under someone else’s policy, and this one stops applying. Linking to a source is not an endorsement of the organisation, and this site has no control over what any of them do with your visit.
Children
This site is reference material for adults sending money and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.
Questions, and reporting an error
Anything about this policy, or about a number on the site that looks wrong, goes to the address on the contact page. Every rate page also carries its own report link, which fills in which page and which rate you are writing about.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and any change that affects what is collected or who receives it will be described rather than quietly folded in. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list.
