Sending money to Pakistan from Kuwait

1 KWD = 889.72 PKR

The indicative rate for 2026-11-01, Source: Central Bank of Oman. This is the reference point every transfer is priced against, not the rate you will be offered. Full KWD to PKR rate, charts and history.

What arrives in Pakistan

A transfer from Kuwait to Pakistan converts Kuwaiti dinars into Pakistani rupees. Two things sit between the rate above and the amount your recipient sees: the fee the service charges, and the margin it adds to the rate itself. The second is usually larger, and is often not presented as a cost at all.

Indicative rate vs what you’ll actually get

The KWD/PKR rate above is the indicative rate published by Central Bank of Oman indicative exchange rates on 2026-11-01. It is the reference point, not a price you can transact at.

Why the amount received is lower

  • Transfer fee. A flat charge, or a percentage, taken by the sending service.
  • Exchange rate markup. Most services apply a spread to the reference rate. This is usually the larger cost and is often not shown as a fee.
  • Receiving method. Bank deposit, mobile wallet and cash pickup can carry different rates and charges.
  • Timing. Reference rates are published once per working day; a transfer is priced when it is executed.

What a markup costs

Illustration only, not a quote from any provider: at a 1.5% markup with a KWD1.500 fee, sending KWD100 delivers about ₨86,323 instead of the ₨88,972 the indicative rate implies — a difference of ₨2,649.

What to know about receiving money in Pakistan

An account a non-resident can open without going to Pakistan

The State Bank of Pakistan launched the Roshan Digital Account with commercial banks in September 2020, letting non-resident Pakistanis open a Pakistani bank account remotely, without visiting a branch or a consulate. For someone sending money home regularly it changes the shape of the problem: rather than paying an operator for each transfer to somebody else's account, the sender can hold an account in Pakistan in their own name and move money into it. Participating banks generally do not charge for incoming remittances to these accounts, though correspondent banks in between may still deduct their own fees.

Terms, supported currencies and charges differ between participating banks, and an account of this kind suits regular senders rather than a one-off transfer. Check the specific bank's schedule of charges.

Before you send

  • Compare the rate, not just the fee. A service advertising no fee may take more through its margin than one charging a flat amount.
  • Check the receiving method. Bank deposit, mobile wallet and cash pickup can be priced differently.
  • Check when it is priced. The reference rate is published once per working day; a transfer is converted when it is actually executed.
